Lois Jean Allen, former resident of Lawrence County, died Saturday with her family by her side in Washington at the young age of 85.

At her request, only a graveside service will be held.

Ms. Allen was born April, 17, 1929, to Charles and Naomi Peel. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Jr.; sisters, Melba, Mercedes, Maddie; and three husbands, Jim Meadows, Harry Hudson and William “Bill” Allen.

Survivors include: a brother, Edward Peel, a sister, Vera Figg; beloved son, Ronald Hudson and wife/caregiver Kit Hudson; stepson, Paul Donahue; and stepdaughter, Gay Horton; grandsons, Jamie Hudson, Michael Paul Donahue and Steven Hudson; granddaughters, Heather Hudson-Cook, Angie Lewis and Missy Horton; resulting in 17 great-grandchildren.

Donations, in memory of Lois, are appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.

Cresthaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
