Ethyl 'Edy' M. Ealy, 89, of Brighton Twp., passed away Friday evening, January 31, 2014, at Heritage Valley Beaver with her husband at her side.
Born August 9, 1924, in Logonda, PA (Near Washington), she was a daughter of the late Henry W. and Nellie Perrine, and had been a resident of Brighton Twp since 1954. Edy loved people and enjoyed working as a sales clerk. She once worked at the former Koebel's of Beaver, as well as at Kaufmann's in Rochester, and had also worked at Health City Pharmacy, Beaver. She was a member of the Park Presbyterian Church, Beaver, and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy having served as a U.S. Navy Wave.
Edy is survived by her husband of 68 years, Edward F. Ealy, with whom she shared an American Love Story with him as an Army Air Corp. Pilot and as a Navy Wave during World War II. They raised two sons. They had two grandchildren and then two great-grandsons.
Preceding her in death besides her parents was a son, Douglas E. Ealy, who passed away while serving in the U.S. Navy on May 10, 1988, and four brothers, Wilbur, Earl, Charles, and Herbert Perrine.
The Beaver County Special Unit will offer full military rites and are asked to meet at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Interment at the Beaver Cemetery will take place at a later time.
