The visitation will be held at Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial, 7 Summit Ave., Summit, NJ on Thursday, June 26th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will take place in the funeral home on Friday, June 27th, at 10 AM followed by the interment at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield.
Mary Ellen was born in Summit, NJ to the late Irving and Gertrude Perry and remained a lifelong resident. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Zoology and Bacteriology from Douglass College in New Brunswick, NJ in 1956.
Mary Ellen had worked for the US Army Special Services as a recreation coordinator in Germany for 2 1/2 years. She then worked as an elementary school teacher for the Berkeley Heights Board of Education for 3 years before retiring to raise her family.
She was active in the EIES of New Jersey, the Summit College Club, an active member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Livingston, and a former president of the Union County Mental Health Association.
Mary Ellen was the beloved wife of the late Joseph R. Coviello, Esq. Loving mother of Ralph Coviello of Summit, Nancy Coviello of Washington, DC, Peter Coviello and his wife, Allison, of Armonk, NY, and John Coviello and his wife, Louise, of Rockaway, NJ. Cherished grandmother of Joely, Luke, and Liam Coviello. Dear sister-in-law of William and Carmela Suswal of Falmouth, MA.
