Margaret M. Bernard, 83, of Loogootee, IN, passed away at 1:04 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2015 at Memorial Hospital & Healthcare Center.

She was born March 14, 1932 in Sturgeon Bay, WI to the late Lester and Myrtle (Malvitz) Pfister.

Margaret retired with 41 years of service from L.T.V Steel Company in East Chicago, IN. She was member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Loogootee.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Bernard; parents, Lester and Myrtle (Malvitz) Pfister; sister, Marie Pfister Hatmaker and friend, Edward Parks.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Mary J. (Edwin) Maxwell; two step-children, Nancy (Don) Whisler and Clarence Bernard; two nieces, Linda (Tom) Lusby and Sharon (Brian) Charlson; nephew, Elmer Hatmaker.

Margaret will be cremated and no services will be held locally. She will be interred in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Valmy, WI. Graveside services will be held at a later date.
