Helie left Serbia during World War II and eventually settled in Eibelshausen, Germany, where she met her husband, Hans “John” Bach. They married in September 1950, and in March of 1952, along with their first daughter, Dorlee, they immigrated to Merrick Long Island, New York. They lived with her uncle, Philip Pfister, for approximately eighteen months. In 1953, they moved to Syracuse, New York, where their other two daughters, Bobbie & Annamarie, were born. In June 1956, they moved to Mansfield where they lived until moving to the Apostolic Christian Home in Rittman, Ohio, on March 2, 2015.
Surviving are her husband, Hans “John” Bach; daughters, Dorlee Weinhardt, Bobbie (Eric) Fleming and Annamarie (Scott) Freund; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Paula (Stephan) Fischer; sister-in-law, Lotti Pfister; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ludwig, Ferdi, Rudi, and Hans; and son-in-law Willie Weinhardt.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2016, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 1:00 p.m. Private family burial will take place in Mansfield Cemetery
