Leatrice Naomi Bennett was born October 29, 1924, on a farm near Wayne to Frank and Louise (Biermann) Pflueger. She graduated from Wayne High School in 1943, Midland Lutheran College - Fremont in 1945, and the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in 1947. Leatrice worked as a dietician in a Cincinnati, Ohio hospital for two years and an Omaha hospital for six years. On August 14, 1955, she married Harry Bennett in Wayne. The couple operated a hardware store in Naper. Harry passed away in 1985. Leatrice moved to Wayne in 1997. She entered the Wayne Care Center in 2002. The couple had no children. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and the Wayne Senior Center.
Leatrice is survived by her sister, Loueva Pflueger of Hamden, CT; and several cousins.
Leatrice was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Aletha Pflueger; an infant sister; and a niece.
