Irene Frances Bailey

PARAGOULD — Irene Frances Phelps Bailey was born Dec. 11, 1917, in Brighton. She was taken home by our Lord and Saviour on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at Greene Acres Nursing Home.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Gerald Bailey; sons, Dale, Larry and Gary Bailey; granddaughter, Debbie Bailey; parents, James and Rebecca Phelps; brothers, Elmer, Henry, Ebb, Jess, Jim and George Phelps; and sisters, Martha Joyner, Laura Gresham, Clartha Cupp, Ora Edwards and Annie Phelps.

She is survived by two sons, James Bailey of Ashland City, Tenn., and Kim Bailey of Paragould; and four daughters, Betty White of St. Louis, Alda Wells of Tulsa, Okla., Sharon Langley of Paragould and Janice Pruitt of Cardwell, Mo. Irene had 31 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.

Visitation will be tonight from 6-9 in Heath Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in Heath Colonial Chapel with the Revs. Arthur Phelps and Jim Dement officiating. Burial will follow in Cardwell Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Bernard Hospice in Jonesboro.
