Anchorage resident Eura M. Pollock, 90, died July 12, 2004, at Providence Extended Care Center of natural causes. A visitation was at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E St., with a service. Burial was at Angelus Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Pollock was born May 20, 1914, in Booneville, Ark., and moved to Alaska in May 1969. Mrs. Pollock was a foster grandparent in the 1970s and 1980s and was given an award for her work by President Reagan. Her family wrote: "She was a very strong willed woman and a loving grandmother. She is survived by many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She will be missed very much."
Survivors include her son, John Pollock of Ely, Minn.; daughter-in-law, Joan Pollock of Anchorage; grandsons, Reggie Pollock of Anchorage, Mike Pollock of South Lake Tahoe, Calif., Arte Pollock and Gary Pollock of California, Rick Pollock and Davis Pollock of Seattle and Burton Pollock of New York; and granddaughters, Theresa Stephens of Anchorage and Cindy Pollock of New York. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Pollock, and sons, Royal Pollock and Kermit "Tex" Pollock.
