Dorothy held various nursing positions throughout her career which included: hospital staff nursing in obstetric, oncology, medical/surgical and gerontology nursing units. She also was a director of nursing in a extended care facility, an office nurse to a general practitioner and private duty nurse to many of her friends in need. In the early years, she enjoyed serving young people as a camp nurse, Girl Scout leader, and Baptist Sunday school teacher. After retirement, Dorothy continued sharing her kind, encouraging and nurturing ways as "Nani" to her grandchildren and as "Grandma Dorothy" to many children in Reno, Nevada, where she resided for 25 years. Recently she continued this path by moving to Ohio to be closer to her youngest grandchild. Dorothy was loved by many and will be remembered for her un-swerving positive attitude and her kind, gentle, generous spirit.
