Wife of Deputy Attorney General, Edward A. Gifford. Mrs. Gifford was born and lived in Athens most of her life. She moved to Albany about 1 year prior to her death.

Athens - Ella Jane Porter, aged 65 years, wife of Edward A. Gifford, died on Jan. 18th in Coxsackie, where the funeral will take place on Saturday at 2 o'clock. Interment in Rural Cemetery, Athens. Mrs. Gifford was born in this village and resided here until about a year ago. She had been out of health for the past three years, having suffered from paralysis. She was a member of the local Reformed Church and was one of the original incorporators and officers of the Ladies' Aid Society, as well as a life member. She had a kind and generous disposition, bestowing favors upon all with whom she came into contact. She is survived by her husband, one sister, Mrs. L. E. DeFault of New York and four brothers, Clark I. Porter of Schenectady, J. Melvin Porter, O. Gates Porter and Addison W. Porter, all of this village.
