Bernice was born Feb. 9, 1923, in Germantown, the daughter of the late Emil and Otillie (Glumm) Dippmann. In May 31, 1942, she was united in marriage to Alvin Prom. Alvin preceded Bernice in death in January 2002.
Bernice grew up on her parent’s farm in Cedarburg. She enjoyed going to the cabin in Argonne and working on the trails, fourwheeling through the woods, campfires, and cooking out. In her younger years, she loved deer hunting, playing sheepshead with her family, friends and neighbors. Bernice liked her beer and cigs (puffs). She did a lot of word search puzzles, 500 Rummy for money, and betting on the Packer games.
Those Bernice leaves behind to cherish her memory include three children, Gerald Prom of Woodridge, Illinois, Donna Prom of Grafton, and Marlene (Jeff) Prom of Theresa; a daughter-in-law, Bernadette Prom of Gwenn, UP Michigan; six grandchildren, Vincent (Amparo) Prom, Connie (Tim) Beaudry, Tammy (Michael) Hooker, Sheila (Scott) Voll, and Chad (Lisa) Voll; 12 great-grandchildren, Michelle, Patrick, and Amanda Prom, Allen and Sherri Beaudry, Austin Hooker, Matthew and Alex Clune, Brad and Arianna Schofield, and Trevor and Jordyn Voll; a brother, Reno (Elsa) Dippmann; a sister-in-law, Marie Prom; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Bernice was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Prom; a granddaughter, Angie Voll; and her siblings, Lorretta Dippmann and Armon (Rosie) Dippmann.
Funeral services for Bernice will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 29, at Myrhum Patten Miller and Kietzer Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. Burial will follow at Zur-Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg. Bernice’s family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
