Shirley was born Dec. 29, 1934, in Olcott, a daughter of the late Sydna McClung and Conrad Pruden. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray S. Duff Jr.; and son, Richard Scott Duff.
She worked as a telephone operator for C&P Telephone Company for 10 years. Her life was dedicated as a homemaker for her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a member of Cross Lanes Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Tina Renée Crawford of Tampa, Fla.; sons, Randall Ray Duff of Raleigh, N.C., and Kevin Conrad Duff of Proctorville, Ohio; three grandchildren, Christina Lynette Crawford and Brandon Ray Crawford of Tampa and Dalton Christopher Duff of Proctorville.
The family wishes to send their heart-felt thanks to the compassionate staff of St. Francis Hospital; long-time love and devotion from her aunt, Barbara Dean, and uncle, Kelly; and special friends, Frankie, Jaque and Lucille, along with many other friends and neighbors.
Shirley will be sadly missed from our lives. Her strong faith and deep love of family was the cornerstone of her life.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at Chapman Funeral Home, 3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, with the Rev. Morton Estep officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
