Alex, I have come to see the wall 4 times and each time tears come to my eyes. My brother Phillip Perez was also in Viet Nam, 101st Airborne Division. He made it back. I can clearly remember your visits back here to Port Orchard, Washington, playing the guitar and all of us singing, "Michael Row the Boat Ashore". Those were great times. Now you are joined by your mother, Lorraine, and brother, Anthony. Although you were a lot older than me, (8 years!!!) I think I had a crush on you!!! You were such a handsome and talented guy!!! May God, by the power of His Holy Spirit bring peace to your family and friends...YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN!!! Thank you for my freedom, Alex. PS:If I had another son, I was going to name him after you. I already have an Anthony Michael.

Alex Leon Quiroga served as a Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class with Headquarters and Services Company, 1st Battalion, 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division.

He was awarded The Navy Medical Corpsman's Badge, The Purple Heart Medal for his Combat Wounds, The Navy Good Conduct Medal, The National Defense Service Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Vietnam Campaign Medal, The Vietnamese Gallantry Cross Unit Citation.
