ALBERT READ, PIONEER GLENDALE RESIDENT, DIES
Albert Read, resident of Glendale for 44 years died yesterday at his home, 360 W. Broadway. Mr. Read spent his life in the retail book business and library work, having served for 30 years as book buyer for the Los Angeles Public Library. He was a native of Kansas, moving to Texas in 1902 and from there to Los Angeles in 1907. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Read; two sons, George W. of La Canada and Francis W. of San Luis Obispo: two nieces, Mrs. Peter Wilkes of Glendale and Mrs. W.A. Henderson of Los Angeles; five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Friday in Kiefer & Eyerick's Peace Chapel. Interment will take place at Grand View Memorial Park.
