Deceased was born July 31, 1846, making her age 55 years, 6 months and 26 days. She came to Orland in 1870 and has resided here ever since.
Six children are left to mourn a kind and loving mother. They are: Henry Reed, Mrs. Elizabeth Deering, Mrs. Sarah Johnson, George Reed, Mrs. Lily Long and Martin Reed.
She had been quite seriously ill for a number of weeks, but took no medicine, being a firm believer in the efficiency of prayer, but a few days before her death at the request of those near and dear, took medicines prescribed, but did not rally.
She was an earnest Christian and loved and respected by a host of friends in and about Orland, where she has lived many years.
The funeral was very largely attended, the Baptist church being crowded.
Rev R. N. Baker preached the funeral sermon and officiated at the grave in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
The husband and sons and daughters are given the heartfelt sympathy of the citizens of Orland in their loss. - Transcribed by E.
