YAKIMA - Beulah Fern Reeve Bailey, 88, passed away on May 10, 2007 at Parkside Nursing Care Center, in Yakima, WA.

She was born September 1, 1918, in Yakima, WA, to James and Grace Reeve.

She was raised on a farm on Tieton Drive, attended Nob Hill Elementary School, and graduated from Yakima High School in 1936.

Beulah married Eugene Ray Bailey in Yakima on June 22, 1947.

She continued her education after high school in the medical field attending St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing, becoming an RN. She traveled around the United States with the American Red Cross for a number of months. Her later nursing endeavors included surgery nurse at Yakima Valley memorial hospital, private duty nurse for home bound patients, nurse at Valley Osteopathic Hospital, OB-GYN nurse for a local doctor, and traveling with the Red Cross Blood Mobile.

Beulah was an active member in Masonic Organizations. She was a member of the Order of the Amaranth since 1940. Beulah served as Worthy Matron in 1950-51 and 1990-91. She was also a long-time member of the Order of Eastern Star. In both organizations she continually gave her time and service, especially in the area of music, performing as organist and pianist for both of these groups.

She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and Wesley's Women's Groups. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing in the choir, and always enjoyed participating in a good potluck! Everyone raved about her cooking. In her spare time, which she didn't have much, she loved playing pinochle. She loved the beach, camping out and digging for razor clams on vacations.

Surviving are son, James Bailey and wife, Karen, of Yakima; daughter, Becky Croghan and husband Bob of Silverdale; grandsons, Joshua Bailey, Craig Croghan, Kevin Croghan; granddaughter, Kristin Fleck and husband Brandon; and great grandson, Christian Fleck.

She was preceded in death by parents, James and Grace Reeve; and former husband. Eugene R. Bailey.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at Shaw & Sons Funeral Directors, 201 N. 2nd Street in Yakima. Burial will follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
