Herbert Reeve, 83, of Middletown, passed away on Wednesday (May 27, 2009) at The Hospital of Central CT, Bradley Campus. He was the husband of the late Shirley (Tarrant) Reeve. He had been a longtime resident of Southington.


Born May 31, 1925 in Southington, he was the son of the late Herbert and Helen (Gill) Reeve.


Herbert retired from Alsop Engineering in Kingston, NJ. He was a 1943 graduate of Lewis High School, where he played basketball. He was an avid golfer and a member of Scarpa Shoda.


He leaves his beloved partner Rosemary McNerney; his son John Reeve and his wife Jennifer; granddaughter Tanya Reudgen and husband Jason, granddaughter Tiffany Rauch and husband Rod, grandson Matthew Nyren, great-grandsons, Josh, Jacob and Jeffrey Reudgen and Logan Rauch; a brother George Reeve; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Elizabeth Musso, Ellen Palmeri, and Dorothy Limmer.


The Funeral will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol Street, Southington, for a Mass.
Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Southington.
