Joseph M. Reilly, 81, of Medway died December 2 at his home after a long illness. He was the husband of Shirley (Hughes) Reilly.
Born in Hyde Park, November 12, 1931, the son of the late Patrick and Delia (Curran) Reilly, Mr. Reilly was raised in Hyde Park and had lived in Medway since 1966.
Mr. Reilly was a graduate of Boston College High School and attended Northeastern University.
Mr. Reilly operated his own business as a civil engineer until he retired October 1997.
He proudly served in the Navy during the Korean War attaining the rank of Radioman 2nd Class.
He was a member of the Medway VFW and the American Legion.
He was a member of the Stony Brook Photography Club and was an avid photographer and pool player.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Patricia Donahue and her husband James of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Joseph M. Reilly, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Silver Lake, New Hampshire and Karen Shartle and her husband Herb of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
He is also survived by his sister Claire Moynihan of Norwell and was the brother of the late Marian Albani.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Shannon, Kathleen, Emma and Bryce and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, December 6 from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home 3 Barber Street in Medway at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church at 10:00
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Medway.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
