Helen Reinhardt Raby Bailey, 87, of the Abernethy Center, formerly of Hickory, died Friday, October 17, 2003 at the Abernethy Center.
Born June 17, 1916 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Wallace Alexander and Blanche Cline Reinhardt.
She and her first husband were the former owner and operator of Raby's Grocery in the Highland Section of Hickory. She was a member of the Bethany United Church of Christ and a retired employee of Century Furniture.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Paul E. Raby; her 2nd husband, Walter S. Bailey; a son, Paul B. Raby; 4 brothers, Earl Reinhardt, Johnson Reinhardt, Fred Reinhardt, Frank Reinhardt; and 3 sisters, Rosa Lee McLelland, Evelyn Leatherman, and Edith Pope
Survivors include a daughter & son-in law: Doris Raby and Lee Marlow of Newton; a sister, Margaret Cline of Claremont; a grandson, Kenneth Marlow of Newton; a granddaughter; 2 great grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews
The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2003 at Bethany United Church of Christ. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The Rev. Earl Potts will officiate and burial will follow in the Bethany United Church of Christ Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday at Drum Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Conover.
