PEKIN- Anita June Alexander, 85, of El Camino Drive, passed away at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2007 at Pekin Manor.

Born July 20, 1921 in Toluca to Gaetano and Anna (Seghi) Ricci, she married Charles Donald Alexander on November 11, 1961 in Pekin. He died July 15, 1989 in Pekin.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Ned Ricci, Leno Ricci, William "Babe" Ricci and Guy Ricci and two sisters, Rose Grotti and Edith Ripper.

Surviving are one step-daughter, Barbara (Merle) of Pekin; one granddaughter, Sandy of Pekin and many nieces and nephews including, William (Sandy) and Nadine (Darrell), both of Pekin; Nancy (Tim) and Gerri, both of Peoria, Patti (Robert) of Manito, Roseanne (Robert) of Lombard; Richard (Susan) of New Lennox; Tom (Nancy) of Vail, Colorado; Pam of Plano, Texas; Scott (Mia) of Henderson, Nevada; Rory (Ron) of Coralville, Iowa; Robert (Rebecca) of Englewood, Florida; and Barb (Don) of Tremont.

She was a 1939 graduate of Pekin Community High School.

She retired in 1983 after 37½ years from the Centel Telephone Company in Pekin, where she first worked as an operator, then as a clerk. As a clerk, she handled billing long distance charges to customers' local bill.

Her funeral mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, where visitation will be from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Father Timothy Nolan will officiate. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.
