Shirley Beabout, 65, of Palestine, IL, died at 5:56 (EST) on Monday, June 20, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.
She was born February 4, 1951 in Shelbyville, TN the daughter of George K. Rich & Hattie B. Lankford Rich, both of whom preceded her in death.
Shirley married Roger Beabout on May 30, 1969 and he preceded her in death on April 29, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ed Rich and by her sister, Wilma Hardiman.
She is survived by her three children & their spouses, Kristie & Dusty Elder (Palestine, IL), Brandy & Todd Monti (Palestine, IL) and Rusty & Lindsay Beabout (Palestine, IL); 10 grandchildren, McKenna, Tyson, Dawson, Tarryn, Keegan, Tailar, Alivia, Avry, Kinsler, and Ryerson; by her two sisters & brothers-in-law, Gloria & Bob Johns (Decatur, IL) and Diane & Mike Stephens (Robinson, IL); by her brother, Matthew & Andrea Rich (Chicago, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews.
Shirley was a 1969 graduate of Robinson High School. The day after graduating, she married Roger, and from then on, dedicated her life to him and to her family as a wife, mother, and homemaker. Later on in life, her grandchildren were a constant source of joy in her life.
She was a lifetime member of the Palestine AmVets.
There will be a time of visitation from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23rd at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. A private family burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Palestine Public Library, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
