Mrs. Baker was born July 19, 1880 in Daviess County to Alpha and Synthia Chastain Robbins. On June 7, 1898, she was married to Solomon Hopkins, and they made their home in and near Huron until his death May 30, 1921.
She was next married to Charles Baker on September 8, 1924, and they made their home in Mitchell following their marriage. He died February 27, 1954.
Mrs. Baker was a member of a Church of Christ in Martin County.
Surviving are five daughters, two sons, three stepsons, three step daughter, 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 4 sisters.
