Wife of Kenneth S. Brister Sr. and mother of Kenneth S. Brister Jr. A beautiful and talented lady that was taken away from us at the early age of 45. Brenda was born in Miami, Fl and moved to Pompano at around seven years old with her parents Charles and Irma Roberts, both buried next to her along with oldest brother Charles (Chuck). Her parents were natives of Key West, Fl. along with her grandparents, who were among the first English speaking people to come to the Keys (by schooner) from Green Turtle Cay in the Bahama Islands. Many of her relatives still live in Fl. As of 2013 she is survived by sister Patrica Stillwell and brother Jerry Roberts. She was a member of Pompano Beach High School's class of 1962. Following graduation she worked for Pompano Carting as the company's first female employee. She did both secretarial and bookkeeping work. It was owned by Harry Huizenga and his son Wayne and was the forerunner of the Waste Management empire. Wayne Huizenga later became owner of the Miami Dolphins, Florida Marlins and the Florida Panthers. Kenny Jr and I cherish all the great memories and love....on July 14th 2011,our son, and wife Vivian became the parents of a wonderful baby boy, James Luke Brister, a ll-pounder, born at North Miami Shores Hospital in Miami, Fl. He is a fourth generation Floridian.
