Mrs. H. (Mattie Finley Roberts) Bardin, wife of the well known turpentine operator at Peniel, died suddenly at her home last Sunday. Mrs. Bardin was formerly Miss Mattie Roberts, eldest daughter of the late Judge Roberts, a former prominent practicing attorney of this city, and was a lady of noble Christian character. She was married to Mr. Bardin a little over a year ago. She had many friends in this city who are saddened by her untimely death. Mrs. Bardin was a sister of Miss Nettie Roberts, teacher of the public school at Lake Como. the funeral took place on Monday and the interment was in the cemetery at Peniel. (Palatka News Obituary dtd Thursday, 6 Nov 1902.)
