Martha M. Baker of West Salem Township, formerly of Sharon, passed away Saturday (2-16-13) in St. Paul's, West Salem, Township, of natural causes. She was 96.
Mrs. Baker was born May 9, 1916, in Sharon, to Benjamin Roberts and Catherine Shaffer Roberts.
She graduated from Sharon High School in 1934.
On Dec. 16, 1936, she married Ralph D. Baker Sr., who preceded her in death in 2000.
Mrs. Baker kept a loving home and was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Sharon.
She is survived by her children, Martha Smith and her husband Bill, Hermitage; Carol Ann Shellenberger and her husband Carl, Haver, Mont.; and Ralph D. Baker Jr. and his wife Raella, Brookfield; and nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Frederick Roberts and Melvin Roberts; and two sisters, Freda Thorton and Rose Swartz.
