James E. Romans, 57, of Springfield, formerly of Chatsworth, died at 8:35 p.m. Monday at his residence. He was born Feb. 5, 1931, in Chatsworth, the son of Willie M. and Edna Mae Cook Romans. Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Jerrie Manuel. A resident of Springfield since 1974, Mr. Romans was assistant manager of United Rent-Alls. He was a member of Elliott Avenue Baptist Church and a veteran of the Korean War. Surviving are one daughter, LuAnn Romans of Springfield; one son, James J. Romans of Springfield; three grandchildren; one brother, Joseph Romans of Kentucky; two nieces and one nephew. Services will be at 8 p.m. Thursday at Staab Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 11:45 a.m. Friday at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
