OBITUARY Iron County Reporter April 21 2004 "Obituaries: Esther Dzarnowski"
IRON RIVER - Esther D. Dzarnowski, 81, passed away April 16 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls.
She was born April 10, 1923 in Iron River. The daughter of the late Anton and Ersilia (Antoinetti) Rosetti was a life long resident of the area. She attended the Homer and Iron River Schools. On Sept. 12, 1942 she married Peter Dzarnowski at the St. Agnes Church in Iron River and the couple made their home here. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1965. After the death of her husband she was employed by the U.S. Post Office as a rural mail carrier from 1966 until her retirement in 1990. She cooked steaks for the VFW and the Stambaugh American Legion for many years as well as being a cook at the Roma Restaurant. She was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church in Iron River, the St. Agnes Altar Society, Italian Ladies Society, the Rosary Sodality and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 1603 Auxiliary. She was an avid bowler and played on the Ladies minor and Women's bowling leagues for many years, and was a 4-H leader and member of the Home Extension Club for many years. She enjoyed crafting and making things for her family and friends. She looked forward to her Las Vegas trips and her trips to Lewiston, Idaho to visit her brother Sam. She was active at the Iron River Senior Citizens Center and served on the site committee. She was preceded in death by a brother Frank Rosetti; a sister Dora Hoinowski; and a daughter-in-law Joan Dzarnowski.
She is survived by a son Edward of Caspian; a daughter Barbara (Frank) Butorac of Ishpeming; a brother Sam Rosetti of Lewiston, Idaho; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held April 19 at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron River. A liturgical prayer service was conducted.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 20 at 10:45 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron River and at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Iron River with the Rev. Norman Clisch, pastor, and Rev. Otto Sartorelli concelebrated the Mass of Christian Burial.
The Ladies of the Rosary Sodality and the Italian Ladies Society formed an honor guard at the funeral service.
Pallbearers were Frank and Todd Butorac, Larry Zdunek, Ron Leonoff, Ed Rometti and Dave McGowan.
Organist Luella Ambach accompanied the St. Agnes Choir.
Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
