HUDSON FALLS — Lisa Lynn (Thompson) Ross, 53, of Hudson Falls and formerly of Ticonderoga, died on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, after her courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family, at the Glens Falls Hospital.
Born March 18, 1959, in Ticonderoga, she was the daughter of the late Geraldine and Melvin Thompson.
Lisa was a devoted grandmother "Meme", mother, sister, wife, companion and friend. She made a special connection with everyone and loved life to the fullest.
Lisa was a devoted Baptist and attended service at the Village Baptist Church in Fort Edward. Lisa loved the Lord and lived her life each day by his word.
Lisa loved her garage sales, church sales and second hand shops. "If its free, its for me, if its junk, put it in the trunk."
In addition to her parents, she was also pre-deceased by two brothers, Carl Thompson and Harvey Thompson; three sisters, Mary (Thompson) Kahl, Cissy Thompson Weidman, and Susan (Thompson) Slattery.
Lisa is survived by her partner, Gordon Bixby; her ex-husband and friend, Daniel Ross; her four children, Alicia (Billy) Matthews, Melissa (Paul) Matthews, Steven Barringer, and Daniel (Danielle) Barringer; five sisters, Geraldine, Melanie (Joe), Kim, Diana and Lynn; and five brothers, Mark (Mary), Kendall (Margot), Sean, Todd (Angie) and Jody. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Lauren, Lydia, Daniel, Laila, Ryan, Michael and John; and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. A memorial service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Rev. Sheldon Hurst, Pastor of the Village Baptist Church of Fort Edward, will officiate. Burial will follow at the family plot of the Valley View Cemetery of Ticonderoga.
Lisa and her family would like to give special thanks for the love and care from Dr. Gallini, Donna Boss, P.A., Dr. "Dreamy" Valerian, the Glens Falls Hospital Staff, Lilly, Lisa, Roni, Randy, Sue, Mary, Margaret, Christopher, Lindy, Walter, Britney, Dorleen, Rodney, Lauren, Robin, Christine, Kayla, Barb, and Tom. Also a special thanks to the hospice staff, Bobbi Jo, Kelly, Phil, Mary and staff.
Lisa touched everyone with her smile, laugh and her love for everything. She will be greatly missed.
