Mary Barnes, a longtime summer resident of Bloomingburg and a homemaker, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at the Riverview Hospital in Red Bank, N.J. She was 76 years of age.
The daughter of the late Harry and Helen Ryan Ross, she was born December 3, 1925, in Brooklyn, N.Y., moving to Marlboro, N.J. in 1997.
She is survived by her husband, Wallace Barnes, at home; two daughters, Mary Ann Herbst and her husband, George, of Marlboro, N.J., and Catherine Ward of Red Bank, N.J.; a sister, Eleanor Bennett of Brooklyn; two brothers, Billy Ross of Long Island and Buddy Ross of Bloomingburg; and three grandchildren, Chris, Jenny and Rose. She was
predeceased by two brothers, Joe and Harold Ross, and a son, James Barnes who died in 1978.
Friends may call at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, on Friday from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Bloomingburg.
Burial will be made in the family plot in the Blooomingburg Cemetery.
