BATTEN, Shirley -
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on May 1st 2013 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in her 78th year. Shirley loved to play the piano and volunteer at many local organizations. Beloved wife of the late William Melville Batten. Loving mother of Dale (Sherry), Linda Cooper (Michael) and Sandy Batten-Prentice (Will). Cherished grandmother of Derek, Mark, Andrew, Brent, Shawn, Justin, Racheal, Tyler, Samantha, and Christian. Proud great-grandmother of Cassandra, Kenadie, Taylor, Natascha, Lauryn, Jack, Laurel, Amara, Sloan, and Lydia. Dear sister of Anita, Mervyn, Ronald, Bruce, Doris, Lisa, Don, and the late Fern. Friends and family will be received at W. C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby on Sunday, May 5th 2013 from 10 – 11am followed by a service in the chapel at 11:00am.
