Elizabeth was the daughter of Frederick Rowe and Lydia Ann Cripe. Frederick was born in Germany and came to the United States in 1869. Frederick and Lydia are both buried in Bremen Cemetery.

Elizabeth married widower George Carbiener, Jr. 08 Jul 1894.
They lived and farmed in Union Twp, St. Joseph Co, IN until by 1920 George retired and they moved to Bremen in Marshall County. At her death, Elizabeth was living with a daughter, Mrs. Warren J. Miller in Bremen.
