MRS. IDA BRANDON, OLD RESIDENT, PASSES AWAY

Bright's Disease and Spinal Meningitis Fatal to Well Known Elkhart Woman.

Ida B. Brandon, wife of William S. Brandon, of 1632 West Franklin street, died at 3:15 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Death was caused by Bright's disease and spinal meningitis after an illness of eight weeks. Mrs. Brandon's illness is to have been aggravated by worry. Two of her sons, Glenn and Russell Brandon, had announced their intention of volunteering to go with the New York Central engineer corps to France. Both volunteered but neither was accepted, but then fear of the draft depressed Mrs. Brandon. Both young men's numbers appear low in the draft list.

Soon after she was prostrated Mrs. Brandon was taken to a hospital where she remained four weeks, improving some, and she then expressed a wish to be taken home. Her wish was complied with three weeks ago, although her physicians held out no hope for an ultimate recovery.

Mrs. Brandon, who was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Row, was born on their farm just east of the city on November 22, 1867. She married Mr. Brandon on December 19, 1888, and always lived in or near this city.

Besides the husband and parents she is survived by four sons - Glenn R., Ernest E., Russell and Orville Brandon, all of whom reside in this city.

The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Church of Christ (Disciples), Rev. F.C. Lake officiating. The casket will not be opened at the church but friends may call at the house from 4 o'clock this afternoon until 1 o'clock Monday. Interment will be made in the Rowe cemetery.
