Vicki, age 59, of Darlington, died on Monday at her home with her loving family by her side. Vicki died of a glioblastoma brain tumor. She was born on Feb. 17, 1950, in Dodgeville to Robert and Maxine (Douglas) Ruf. She attended Darlington Elementary School and graduated from high school in Huron, S.D., in the class of 1968. Following high school, she attended MATC for fashion. Through the years, Vicki was an insurance agent for Rural Insurance in Pardeeville and owned "It's You," a women's boutique in Portage. She was the mother of two children. After her husband, Jim Selje, died in a car accident in 1998, she moved to Madison to be closer to her children. On Oct. 13, 2001, Vicki married Ed Edwards. She and Ed moved to Darlington in 2006, where Vicki enjoyed spending time with old classmates and friends, and Ed continued to teach at Darlington High School. Vicki will be remembered for her strong business sense, her love and dedication to family, and her gift for creating a beautiful and loving home. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Darlington and of the Farm Bureau.
Survivors include her husband, Ed; a daughter and her husband, a son and his wife, her stepson, five grandchildren, her father, and many other relatives and close friends.
Vicki was preceded in death by her mother, Maxine Ruf, in 2005; and her first husband, Jim Selje, in 1998.
Funeral Services was held at First Baptist Church, Darlington.
