She was the oldest daughter of Henry L. and Letitia Irene McCualsky Ruf. She married Harold Franklin Baritell. She was raised in Parkersburg WV and graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1944. She graduated from Potomac State College in 1946. After marriage she resided many years in Syracuse NY and her final years in Kingwood WV. She was the mother of one daughter and two sons.
