Sarah Gertrude "Sally" Butler, 73, of Williamstown, died Sept. 8, 2011, at her home.

She was born March 10, 1938 to Carl J. and Violet Mae Fenton Ruf.

She was a 1956 graduate of Williamstown High School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Williamstown and had been active in the United Methodist Choir and the Sarah Circle. Sally loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events and other school activities and spending time with her wonderful friends and neighbors on Sherwood Drive.

Sally was an accomplished interior decorator, working with many homeowners in the area. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Charles B. "Bud" Butler, whom she married on June 6, 1959. Sally was a loving mother and grandmother to her son, Charles "Buddy" Butler, Jr. and his wife, Nikki, and to her grandchildren, Garret C. and Chelsey E. Butler and Emmy J. and Lea C. Strauss, all of Williamstown. Also surviving are brothers, James "Joe" Ruf (Ruth) and Thomas Ruf (Linda), all of Williamstown.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church, Williamstown, with the Rev. Steve Gedon officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. There will be visitation on Monday at the church for one hour prior to her service. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Williamstown.
