Mr. Arthur C. Rummel, 79, passed away at Mount Carmel Care Center in Burlington on Sunday, November 17, 1996. He was born in the Town of Norway on December 15, 1916, to Louis and Gretchen (nee: Lange) Rummel and was a lifelong resident of the area. On May 29, 1943, at Waterford Methodist Parsonage, he was united in marriage to Mary Rehberg. He attended Drought School and Rochester Agricultural School. He was a retired Farmer, Mr. Rummel attended English Settlement Methodist Church, was Director of Milwaukee Milk Producers for 20 years, was Treasurer for the Town of Norway for 42 years, was former Treasurer of Norway Sanitary District, was past Director of Southeast Mutual Insurance Company, a former member of Racine County Board of Adjustment, and presently served as a Director of Southeast Telephone Company and the Board of First Banking Center, Surviving are his wife, Mary; four children, Gary (Beth) Rummel of West Bend. Karen (Jonathan) Bird of Waterford, Susan Howell of Mukwonago, and Kevin (Vicky) Rummel of Reedsburg; 11 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; sister, Ruth (Curt) Cole of Portage; brother, Eugene (Virginia) Rummel of Burlington; sister-in-law, Verna Rummel of Dallas, Texas; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold. Burial will be in English Settlement Cemetery.
