Rose Runyon Abner, 88, of Barbourville, Ky., formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at her residence.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda M. Spann of Madison; and one son, Denver R. Abner of Barbourville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Beve Abner.
The funeral was at Hopper Funeral Home Chapel in Barbourville. Burial was in Croley Cemetery in Barbourville.

Rose Ethel Runyon Abner age 88, of Little Poplar Creek, was born there on August 16,
1922. She was a daughter of the late Steve Runyon and Mary Liz Lewallen Runyon. Mrs.
Abner died at her home, Wednesday, May 11, 2011. She was a life long member of the
Harvest Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio and attended the Poplar Creek Baptist
Church. On April 12, 1947, she united in marriage to Beve Abner and to this union
two beloved children were born. Along with her parents and husband, Beve, she was
preceded in death by a sister; Bertha Proffitt and a brother; Cecil Runyon.

Home, Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Thomas Hall and her Grandson,
Ryan Spann officiating. Burial will follow in the Croley Cemetery on Little Poplar
Creek, with Mrs. Abner's nephews serving as pallbearers. Friends will be received at
the Hopper Funeral Home, Friday after 6:30 p.m. and Saturday after 10:00 a.m.until
