Rubye Anne Alexander, age 88, of Gallatin, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013. Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 23, at 4:30 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Yarborough and Dr. Harold Allen officiating. Entombment will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with her grandchildren serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 23, from 1 p.m. until time of service. Mrs. Rubye Anne was born March 21, 1925 in Smith County to the late Fred E. Russell, and Virginia Wright Porter Russell. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Paul D. Alexander, her son, Charles “Tony” Alexander, her daughter, Paula Ann Alexander Troutt and her sister, Joyce Hill Gannett. She is survived by her son-in-law, William E. “Bill” Troutt of Gallatin, daughter-in-law, Sue Newby Alexander of Gallatin, sisters,, Pauline Clemmons of Lebanon, and Dot Garrett of Hendersonville, grandchildren, Doug Alexander, Jim Troutt (Claudia), Paul Troutt (Kelly), Jon Troutt (Kristen), Travis Alexander, and Jennie Alexander, and great-grandchildren, Lauren Troutt, Luke Troutt, and Katherine Troutt. Paul and Rubye Anne were well known in the Gallatin community with their ownership and operation of Alexander Funeral Home for many decades. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Gallatin, 205 East Main Street, Gallatin, TN 37066. Online condolences may be made at alexanderfh.info.
