FROM THE JACKSON SUN:
Mrs. Candis Barron, 98, prominent resident of Gibson County, and grandmother of Coy C Barron of the income tax division office, passed away on Wednesday at the home of her son, H L Barron near Dyer, TN.
Mrs Barron, one of whose ambitions was to live to be 100, observed her 98th birthday Jan 21. She had enjoyed fine health until four days ago when she suffered a heart attack. Active until her illness, she had pieced five quilts since Christmas.
She was a native of Lebanon, in Wilson County, TN. She was married to Francis Barron and a member of the Poplar Grove Methodist Church.
Besides H L Barron, she leaves three other sons: E D, J P, and E E Barron, all living near Trenton, Tn.and a daughter, Mrs Will Bond of near Trenton.
Funeral services were held today at the Poplar Grove Methodist Church by her pastor, the Rev. M S McCaslin, assisted by Rev J M Kendall of Medina, and the Rev O H Lafferty of Oakland.
