PLYMOUTH Phyllis E. (Ruth) Oliver, 83, of Plymouth, passed away August 22, 2009 at the Life Care Center, surrounded by her family. Devoted wife of Thomas E. Oliver, married for 64 years. Loving mother of Sue Dunn and her husband Edward of Plymouth, and MaryAnn Strassel and her husband Francis of Plymouth. Phyllis is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 8 Great grandchildren, and her brother V.J. Ruth of Dennis. Born in Medford on February 25, 1926, daughter of the late Vincent J. and Ann E. (Lenney) Ruth. Phyllis attended High School at the Mary Cliff Academy in Winchester, and later attended Regis College. She had many hobbies, including cooking, gardening, decorating, and was a great artist. Our Noonie will be greatly missed. The Funeral will take place on Tuesday morning at 9:15 am from the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth, followed by a Mass at St. Marys church in North Plymouth at 10:00 am. Friends may call at the Cartmell Funeral Home on Monday from 4-7:00 pm. Cremation will take place at the Vine Hills Crematory in Plymouth, followed by burial at St. Pauls Cemetery in Hingham at a later date.
