Nellie Beautone Abbott, 85, of Springfield died Sunday at Doctors Hospital. She was born Oct. 1, 1910, in Greenfield, Tenn., the daughter of LeRoy Franklin and Nettie J. Smith Rutledge. She married J. Harry Abbott; he died in 1983.
Mrs. Abbott was employed by Bressmers and the state Department of Revenue. She was past president of the Springfield Parent Teacher Association and lifetime member and Sunday school teacher at Third Presbyterian Church. She also was a member of Lilla Rebekah Lodge No. 3; member of Abraham Lincoln Chapter No. 959, O.E.S.; member of Laurel United Methodist Church; and Amaranth Court 8.
Survivors: a son; three stepsons; a daughter; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Services: Ellinger-Kunz and Davis Funeral Home, the Rev. John Hamilton officiating. Burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
