She was born Jan. 1, 1920, in Bryon.
She was a member of Royal Neighbors of America and Eastern Star. She was an avid bird watcher, a published author of poems and music, and a devout follower of Christ. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her children, Eleanor (Ken) Smothers, Raymond (Joyce) Reidl, Samuel (Bev) Reidl, Marcie (Ernie) Lenard, Gerald (Ann) Reidl, Violet Hoogkirk, Victor (Mary Lou) Reidl, Howard "Rusty" (Kath) Kimball and Steven (Deb) Grunst; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Wilbur Rutledge; her sisters, Ellen Wilkinson, Bertha Schulds and Laura Rutledge; her father, Ulysses S. Grant Rutledge and her mother, Nora Berry.
The memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 31, at Chemung United Methodist Church. Her son-in-law, the Rev. Ernie Lenard, will officiate. Interment will be in Dunham Chemung Cemetery.
