Mildred "Millie" Faye Hoggard, 79, of Peoria passed away Monday, July 6, 2009, at Manor Care of Peoria.

Born Jan. 1, 1930, in East Peoria, Ill., to Carl R. and Clemie R. (Black) Rutledge, she married Curtis Hoggard on July 29, 1950, in Peoria. He survives.

Also surviving are daughters, Cherie (Bob) Horstman of Dunlap, Cynthia Hoggard of Peoria and Chris (Tom) Ford, also of Peoria; and grandchildren, Allison and Ashley Ford.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters-in-law.

Millie was a longtime member of Grace Presbyterian Church, where she taught tiny tots Sunday school for 25 years and participated in several church groups. She was also a leader in Pioneer Girls.

Millie was retired from Caterpillar, where she was a clerical worker.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel, and one hour before services at the church. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009, at Grace Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Robert Donaldson officiating. Interment will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
