Eileen Frances (Ryan) Fallat, age 77, of Danbury passed away at Danbury Hospital on Wednesday, April 29, 2009. She was born in Troy, N.Y., on October 7, 1931 to the late Martin Ryan Sr. and the late Elizabeth (Bohrer) Ryan. She grew up in Troy with her siblings then moved to Brewster, N.Y., where she attended Brewster High School. Later, she met Stephen Fallat whom she married July 16, 1955. They settled in Danbury where they raised a family and lived happily for many years. Eileen enjoyed the company of her family and friends. She loved to tell stories, over a cup of tea, and will often be remembered for her quick wit and Irish charm. Her husband, mother and father as well as her siblings: Mary Hansen, Kathleen Brown, Elizabeth Plante, Martin Ryan Jr. and Ann Plante predeceased her. Her daughter, Stephany Fanning and her husband, David of Danbury; two grandsons: Stephen and Gregory; and several nieces and nephews survive her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 4, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to: Connecticut Yankee Council, Boy Scouts of America, 60 Wellington Road, P.O. Box 32, Milford, CT 06460.
