Bridget Ryan, age 70, of Bethel, died unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday November 11, 2009. Bridget Ryan was born in Shamballymore County Cork, Ireland on July 9, 1939. She was the daughter of Bridget and Peter O' Donovan She came to the United States in her early 20s where she settled in Bethel. She was an Irish step dancer, loved Irish music, she was a member of Saint Mary's Church and the Ancient Order of Hibernians She enjoyed real estate adventures and helping others in need. Bridget is well known for her heart of gold and always being the first to offer a helping hand. She touched so many lives and will be missed greatly by her family and anyone who knew her. Bridget is survived by her three daughters, Patricia, Colleen, and Tara; her loving siblings, Elizabeth Luukko-Ursini, Peter O'Donovan Kathleen Doherty, Jackie Rae, Timothy Rae and Helen Come; and her grandchildren she adored, Sean, Danielle, and Christopher Sellers. Bridget worked for the Danbury Hospital and the Danbury Nurses Registry for most of her life. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated in St Mary's Church, Bethel, on Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Burial will be in Gerowe Cemetery, New Fairfield. The family will receive friends in the Bethel Funeral Home 215 Greenwood Ave, Bethel, on Friday from 4 until 7 p.m.
