Dorothea Marie Ryker, 81, of Clay City, died at 5:12 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2009, in Flora.

Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. today at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Clay City. Services will be held at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home with Lee Ryker and Rev. Brad Harris officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Flora.

Mrs. Ryker was born on June 16, 1928, in Flora, the daughter of Francis William and Gladys (Owen) Davis. She married Jesse Ryker Jr. on February 21, 1949. He preceded her in death December 11, 1989.

She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Clay City.

Mrs. Ryker is survived by her son, David Ryker and his wife, Shirley, of Advance, Mo.; son, Doug Ryker and his wife, Pat, of Brandford, Fla.; son, Donny Ryker, of Centralia; son, Doran Ryker, of Lewisville, Texas; son, Lee Ryker and his wife, Rhonda, of Clay City; daughter, Diane Hylton and her husband, Matt, of Columbus, Ohio; daughter, Donna Dickerson and her husband, Clark, of Noble; daughter, Deanna Kuhl and her husband, Marvin, of Wendelin; daughter, Mylene Tobias and her husband, Brad, of Wichita, Kan.; daughter, Frances Dehner and her husband, Bill, of Olney; son, Darren Ryker, of Lewisville, Texas; sister, Mildred Davis Frost, of Xenia; brother, Don Davis, of Oreana; brother, Walter Davis, of Decatur; 24 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers, James, Harold and Leonard Davis.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society for breast-cancer research or First Baptist Church in Clay City.
