Died- September 19, 2013
Veronica P. Darosh, 85, of Minersville, went to be with our Lord on Thursday at the Tremont Nursing Home surrounded by a loving family, a Pastor's last blessing and caring nurses.
Born on March 17, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Rokosky Sabol.
She was the wife of the late Edward P. Darosh Sr.
Veronica was a devoted wife of 58 years. She so much loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
The highlights of her life were gatherings with family and friends, daily trips downtown or on the bus to Pottsville, where she would enjoy conversing with the many people she befriended. She lived her faith as a parishioner of the former St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and St. Matthew the Evangelist Church, Minersville, and demonstrated her commitment as a member of the Married Women's Sodality and helped with many of the church's fundraising events.
In addition to her parents and husband, Veronica was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary White, Margaret Torraco, Elizabeth Ondush, Anna Nicola; three brothers, John Sabol, George Sabol and Mike Sabol; a son, Robert Darosh, Sept. 20, 2009; and grandson, Keith Kreiser Jr., Sept. 18, 2010.
She is survived by two sons, Ed Darosh and his wife, Linda, Tower City, and Stephen Darosh and his wife, Melissa, Minersville; two daughters, Mary Kreiser and her husband, Keith, Muir, and Teresa Miller and her husband, Kevin, Pottsville; grandchildren, Melissa Ritzman, Stephen Darosh Jr., Jordan Darosh and Tammy Betz; great-grandchildren, Letitia Ritzman, Carissa Ritzman, Brianna Betz and Brady Betz; nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Matthew the Evangelist Church, Minersville, with the Rev. Leo J. Maletz officiating and the Rev. Paul Rothermel as concelebrate. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., as well as from 7 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery #2. The family would prefer rememberances in the form of contributions made to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer's Association or memorials to St. Matthew the Evangelist Church.
