Stephen Sabol, 66, of Vandergrift, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011, in the Cedar's Hospice, Monroeville. Born May 31, 1945, in Sewickley, he was the son of the late Stephen William and Susan (Dubick) Sabol. Steve had been employed by LTV Steel Aliquippa Works and Ventec Refrigeration in Penn Hills. He was Catholic by faith and a member of the Vandergrift American Legion and Parks Township Slovak Club. He enjoyed riding his Steelers bike, designing mobiles, waterfalls and painting. He especially enjoyed walking his dog. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Carol A. (Mawhinnery) Sabol, of Vandergrift; a daughter, Jeannine L. Sabol, of Vandergrift; son, Stephen R. (Connie) Sabol, of New Brighton; four grandchildren, Tyler Halvin, Stevee Bozza, Jamie Meskow and Jesse Sabol; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Sabol, of Rochester, Pa. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son, Stephen W. Sabol; and a sister, Marlene Perkins. At his request services were private. Arrangements were entrusted to the DUNMIRE-KERR FUNERAL HOME INC., 244 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift.
