ANDRYKOVITCH – Anna D. (Sabol) peacefully passed at Arbutus Park Manor on Nov. 26, 2016. Her long battle with Alzheimers ended with her family at her side. Anna was born in Johnstown on June 16, 1923, to Pauline (Popovnak) and George Sabol. She lived in St. Michael, while growing up and graduated from Adams Township High School in 1941. She settled in Beaverdale after her marriage to Andrew, which lasted 65 years until Andrew’s death in 2011. She is also preceded in death by parents, and her brothers, Joseph and Wilbert. Anna was very active with her church and the Beaverdale community. For many years, she served as president and member of the Altar and Rosary Societies of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church. She also served as president of the American Legion Post 460 Auxiliary. She was retired from her position as a librarian of the Beaverdale Public Library after 21 years of service. Like many women her age, she served her country by working on the railroad during WW II, greasing railcars. She loved to crochet (she made many beautiful things for her family), was an avid bingo player and danced a lively polka. She was also known for her wonderful nut rolls which she tirelessly baked for her family and church bake sales. She was a truly generous and giving person. Anna is survived by her three sons, Andrew (Marietta Walsh), Willowick, OH; Stephen (Susan Johnson), Beaverdale; Ronald, North Huntingdon; grandchildren, Douglas, Paula Bertone, Keith (Pam), Jennifer (Robert) Blanchetti, Stephanie Myers, Stephen (Jennifer), Jason (Michelle), Josh (Susan) and Ryan and Ashley: and 21 greatgrandchildren. Also survived by sister, Margaret Hamidy, Bridgeton, NJ: brother, George (Irene), FortWalton Beach, FL: and sisters-in-law, Julie Sabol, Millie Andrykovitch, Marie Kesslak, all of Johnstown. Friends and family received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov 29, at the Jean Kinley Funeral Home, Beaverdale, where Parastas will be sung at 5 p.m. Funeral liturgy at St Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 10:30 a.m., Father James Spontak, celebrant. Committal, church cemetery. Her family would like to thank the staff of Arbutus Park Manor for the love and great care that was given to Anna. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to the Beaverdale Public Library in honor of Anna.
