Mrs. Rose E. Hess, who resided at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hess, 1028 Birkbeck St. Freeland, and formerly of Highland, died early Tuesday afternoon at Hazleton St. joseph's Medical Center Ambulatory Care Unit, shortly after admission.
Born in Drifton, she was the daughter of the late John and Rose Spisak Sabol, and was a resident of the North Side her entire life. She was a member of the church of St. Ann, Freeland. Prior to her retirement, she was employed in area garment industries.
Preceding her in death were her husband John F. who died in 1976, a grandson, two brothers, John and Steven and two sisters, Miss Anna Sabol and Mrs. Verna McDermott.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Rose Marie) Groth, Matawan, New Jersey, sons (private) Drifton and Edward T. Freeland. There are 6 grandchildren and six great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family.
Funeral services Friday at 9 am Cotterall Funeral Home. Interment will be in Freeland Cemetery.
